Bhavnani
Ashok Bhavnani is an IT professional with over 21 years of diverse experience
ranging from strategic business development, Software Product Development
& Management, implementation project management, and cross cultural people
management in the Financial Software & Services industry. Ashok has overseen
numerous enterprise-wide projects with insurance companies such as Royal Sun
Alliance, Generali, Yasuda, Allianz, Mitsui, Sumitomo, Berkeley and HDFC
across Asia-Pacific - including Hong Kong, Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia,
Thailand, India and Pakistan.
Ashok received his B. Tech in Electrical Engineering from MS University,
Baroda, and his MBA from IIM Bangalore
Surajit
Basu
Surajit Basu is an IT consultant with over 19 years of experience in design,
development and implementation of enterprise-wide solutions in different industries, especially
insurance. With his broad range of technical experience, project management skills across the
entire lifecycle of IT solutions, and cross-cultural management and leadership skills, he has
managed several projects from conceptualisation to execution. Working closely with insurance
companies such as Allianz AG General Insurance, Mitsui Marine Insurance, Sumitomo Fire & General
Insurance, Tokio Marine General, Standard Life and HDFC across Asia-Pacific - including Hong Kong,
Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, India and Pakistan, Basu has led over 15 enterprise-wide
projects.
Basu received his B. Tech in Computer Science from IIT Kanpur, and his MBA from IIM Calcutta.
He has published several papers on Insurance practices in a variety of journals.

Pashupati is an insurance industry professional with a diverse range of experience in back
office insurance operations, systems management, IT consulting and product development. As
Director (Implementation) at Apex Technologies, he has managed several life and non-life product
implementations for companies like Royal Sundaram Alliance Insurance, Old Mutual Kotak Life and
HDFC Standard Life Insurance.
A fellow of the Insurance Institute of India and an Associate of the Institute of Risk Management,
London, Pashupati has received his MBA from IIM Bangalore. A visiting faculty at IIM Bangalore, he
is actively involved with Centre for Insurance Research (CIRE) at the institute. He continues to
present papers at different forums such as Asia-Pacific Risk and Insurance Association (APRIA) and
National Insurance Academy on wide ranging topics such as e-commerce, Alternate Risk Transfer (ART)
and insurance reforms in India.
Narasimhan
Parthasarathy
Narasimhan is an IT professional with over 20 years of experience in design and development
of enterprise-wide solutions in insurance. Familiar with a wide variety of methodologies, tools
and technologies, he has led several large development projects for insurance applications, as
well as business intelligence applications. In IT companies, he has been the leader of development
teams managing software applications for life, non-life and group insurance. Clients for whom
Narasimhan has helped execute development work include HDFC Standard Life, Allianz Singapore and
Allianz Philippines.
Narasimhan received his B. Com in from the University of Madras, India and is an Associate
of the Insurance Institute of India.
Sivakumar
Chinnappan
Kumar is an IT consultant with over 15 years of experience in architecture, design, development
and implementation of Back-office systems in Insurance and Data Warehousing (DW)/Business Intelligence
(BI) systems for Insurance and Telecom sectors.
Kumar has worked extensively in development, implementation and project management of non-life insurance
software products. He has implemented insurance back-office and financial accounting systems for some of
the largest non-life insurers in Asia, including Sumitomo and Mitsui marine, Allianz, Royal and Sun Alliance
and HSBC Insurance.
Kumar has been involved in architecture, design, development and rollout for DW/BI projects in the Insurance,
Telecoms, Manufacturing and Utilities in Asia. In Insurance, he has been involved in designing and developing
a BI business layer for a Non-Life back-office system (subsequently implemented in multiple sites across Asia),
designing a generic DW model and Extraction utilities for a Non-Life back-office system and designing/implementing
BI solutions for Life Insurance companies like HDFC Standard Life and ING Vysya Life.
In the area of Telecom, he has worked as Solution Architect and Technical Lead in end-to-end Data Warehouse and
Data Mining projects for leading Telecoms like Singapore Telecom Mobile and DiGi Telekom. He has done DW/BI strategy
study and recommendations for Hewlett-Packard, Singapore and Singapore Power.
Kumar has received his B.E. from PSG Tech, Coimbatore and his MBA from IIM, Bangalore.
Subhash
Bhavnani
Subhash Bhavnani is an IT consultant with 20 years of experience in consulting, design,
development and project management of software solutions in Banking, Finance, Government and
Insurance Sectors.
With his technical, consulting and project management skills and his broad exposure across the
all stages of the IT lifecycle, he has managed several projects from conceptualisation to execution
in India and North America.
In Banking, Subhash has executed projects in Foreign Exchange Dealing, Trade Finance, Term Lending
and Accounts and Investment Management. In Insurance Subhash has designed and implemented BI solutions
for Life Insurance companies and provided consultancy for preparation of roadmaps for IT departments
and Business Plans for CRM implementation, led application development and led the implementation for
non-life insurance core systems.
Subhash received his B. Sc. from the University of Bombay, India and his M.B.A from Gujarat University,
Ahmedabad.
